About the role
For Commercial Fleet, based in Rotterdam, we are currently looking for an Office Based Account Manager to join our team. Commercial Fleet is an exciting part of the Global Retail business serving B2B customers in Fleet (passenger cars and vans) & Commercial Road Transport (mainly trucks).

In this challenging role, your key responsibility is to manage, develop and grow a selective portfolio of high­value customers (CRT & Fleet).

As an Account Manager you are expected to grow share of wallet through building partnerships with customers and through winning new business. In this role, you work closely with other functions in Commercial Fleet and the wider Retail organization to achieve flawless delivery of Customer Value Propositions (CVPs), ensuring the highest level of customer satisfaction and maximum value for Shell.

Who are you?
We’re looking for someone with as many of the following as possible:

  • Experience in sales & marketing would be an advantage
  • Ideally Sales experience in managing accounts & proven success in winning new profitable business
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills: ability to manage effective relationships at all levels
  • Strong credibility (or proven willingness and capability to improve) in Personal and business skills

Special Challenges

  • Sell Shell CVP’s primarily over the phone
  • Occasional customer visits where required form part of the job to win deals – join Field Based Account Managers on customer visits on an occasional basis to generate exposure and learnings
  • Deliver ambitious growth targets through an increasing focus on “hunting” high-value customers
  • Ability to influence without authority
  • Mature, price driven market and as such extra focus is required on value selling
  • Fluency in Dutch and English (both verbal and in writing)
